From Smoke and Mirrors to Real Action: A Symphony of Change for Rio’s Climate Dance
Amidst the chaotic dances of the climate, the question arises: what is the true choreography behind climate change? While many countries around the globe engage in a true symphony of efforts to study and reverse the effects of global warming, Brazil, especially Rio de Janeiro, seems more inclined to a publicity dance than concrete action.
The fight against climate change, like a work of art, requires robust strokes of public policies that not only embellish speeches but punish polluters unequivocally and suspend activities that destroy our planet. However, this symphony of actions is still just a distant chord around here.
In this peculiar scenario of 2023, the ceramics in my city continue to release their smoke without any filter, as if they were staging a rebellious performance on the stage of environmental irresponsibility. And the burnings during the sugarcane harvest? A true pyrotechnic display without proper oversight.
While these absurdities echo without punishment, the doubt arises: to what extent are climate change campaigns a well-staged play for the public, a marketing strategy, and to what extent are they taken seriously behind the scenes of our environmental responsibility? Perhaps it’s time to tune the instruments of real action and transform the stage of promises into a concrete setting for environmental preservation.”
